Alaghodaro 2018: Edo Assembly Speaker Leads Government Delegation To Juma’at Prayer

Edo, South-South, Nigeria ….The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, *Rt Hon Kabiru Adjoto* today led top government officials to Juma’at prayer in a move to pray for the smooth take-off of the second edition of the ‘Alaghodaro Summit’ .

While delivering the Juma’at Khutbah, the Chief Imam of 4 Brigade Central Mosque, Benin City, *Imam Kabiru Sa’ad* harped on the importance of knowledge development in enhancing societal growth.

The Imam who described Edo State as one of the most peaceful states in the federation, eulogized the governor for prioritising the education sector which is evident in his recent move to digitalize learning in Edo State by migrating about 7,000 teachers to digital platform.

The Imam prayed that Allah continue to sustain the governor and his team with the much needed wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.

While addressing the press after the special Juma’at prayer, Edo Assembly Speaker, *Rt Hon (Alhaji)Kabiru Adjoto* said the Muslim Community in Edo State would continue to support the governor as he means well for Edo people.

The Speaker who wore the Thobe and Ghutra Islamic regalia, outlined the unprecedented achievement of the Godwin Obaseki led state government which include prompt payment of salaries and arrears, Industralisation, massive job creation, infrastructural and human capital development.

The Speaker also revealed that the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board permanent site was being reconstructed by the state government and the governor had equally donated a new bus to the board to eradicate transportation hiccups.

The Speaker who doubled as this year’s Amirul Hajj said Edo Muslims enjoyed the best treat in Saudi Arabia courtesy Governor Godwin Obaseki.

*”The Governor has started well, May Allah make him end well. May Allah also guide him aright so that he would be returned the second time to continue the good works”*, he prayed.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, *Hajia Mariam Abubakar* who was part of the delegation also extolled the governor for his remarkable achievements in the last two years.

Meanwhile, Benin City is already agog as Governor Godwin Obaseki is set to present his 2-year scorecard to Edo people through the second edition of ‘Alaghodaro Summit’ which begins today November 9 to Monday, November 12.
