The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, will on October 20, 2018 launch a book title ‘The Benin Monarchy, an Anthology of Benin history’.
The launch of the book, a project of Oba Ewuare II foundation in collaboration with the Benin traditional council was made known to journalists during a press conference at the Oba palace in Benin city.
Chairman of Global Book Presentation Committee, ambassador Martin Uhomoibhi described the book as one of the most iconic in recent time on the revered Monarch and the people of the kingdom.
While highlighting the importance of the book, Uhomoibhi said the book authored by over 18 highly respected authorities/historians within and outside Nigeria on Benin history has a weight of 6.8 kilogrammes.
Speaking during the event, the State commissioner for Art, Culture, Tourism & Diaspora, Hon. Osazee Osewmengie Ero said, he is very happy to have witnessed such a historic positive move in the State more importantly as it relates to the advancement of the culture.
