As the rainy season begins Dr. Carter Okolakpa has called on Nigerians to ensure refuse are dispose properly to avoid drainage blockage as he commend the Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Smart Environment policy.
The Delta State, Burutu North House of Assembly Hopeful made this remark at Ughelli Market road where he saw the speed as which the rainy water flow out in a place that was known as a water logged area.
“The Governor Okowa Smart Agenda in the Environment is really effective. Going by the easy follow of water coutersy of the 2017 massive drainages around Delta state and ongoing through John Nani the Honourable Commissioner of Environment”.
“Taking care of the environment is everyone one responsibility and for we all to avoid the plague of flood that ravaged some part of the country in the year past, we should not wait for the Government to clear our gutters but we should also avoid anything that will block our drainages”.
However, the Medical Specialist who have been giving out free medical services in his constituency advise all Environmental Officers to be vigilant to apprehend anybody that dump refuse improperly especially to block the drainages systems because some of the canal that underwent massive drainages are now block.
