*Already we have Over 5,000 eligible voters without voters cards*

Gonin Gora is a town located along Kaduna – Abuja express way at Chikun Local Government area of Kaduna state. It is just a km drive after taking the turn that will lead to the Federal Capital city from the Kaduna Western by-pass flyover bridge. The town have become a major transit route for all travelers coming from Abuja or Niger passing through Kaduna to Zaria or Kano.
But it is unfortunate that the fast growing community has no single polling unit where voters can excercise their voting right.
In a meeting with Senator Shehu Sani at chikun street, gonin gora, federal housing on Sunday, The community is however pleading through its community leader Elder Simeon Oloyede with their various representatives in the senate, House of Representative and the state house of Assembly to bring in polling unit to the community for them to excercise their voting rights.
The community has however done the collection of those eligible to vote, which include those that have no voters cards and those that have relocated to the community which needs transfer of voters cards to their new residence.
Presenting a document Of collection and different letters written to INEC, REC to Senator Shehu Sani, representing kaduna central senatorial zone, through one of his aides Bashir Yakubu said that “the distinguished senator has promised to bring in a polling unit for the community, adding that “as a member of INEC committee in the senate, the senator will surely make it possible for the community to have a polling unit, I promise to deliver this document to him and you will get what you want”
The community leader however stated that already over five thousand eligible voters in the area has already filled INEC form for voters card about two weeks ago and called on those that are yet to fill the form to kindly do so.
According to him, he told members of the community that, “we need your corporation, anytime we call on you, please come out, and those of you that have not fill the form should kindly do so”.
