By Lola Seriki- Idahosa, Akoko-Edo: Three miners were this morning kidnapped by about ten fulani herdsmen at Igarra this morning , demanding ransome. Our eye witness said that the Fulani Herdsmen took the Local Government unaware and that the Fulani Herdsmen has fully penetrated the Local Government Area, the eye witness report, appealed to the people of Igarra to Please join hands together to stop this menace.
Another eye witness report said that the Fulani herdsmen also attacked several persons on Imoga-Ibillo Road, according to the source “Thousands of fulani herdsmen have taken over the northern flank of Imoga land. Imoga is the largest place in Akoko Edo in terms of land mass and the boundary village between Edo and Kogi. They have also settled at Ogugu, Afeye and Ekor all in Akoko Edo.
“Even some of those displaced from Benue were moved in with two buses last night and now in the outskirts of Oriokpe Quarters, Imoga.
“Tension and violence is ripe, ready to burst. No life is lost and well meaning people of the area are intervening to avoid the outbreak of violence. Casualties are responding to treatment at Ayunko and Madona hospitals at Ibillo.
