Vice Chancellor of the newly established Edo state University, Iyamho, Prof . Emmanuel Aluyor is currently under fire in connection with a missing Hilux vehicle belonging to the University.
It was learnt that the brand new Hilux Van was removed from where it was packed in front of the residence of the driver at the early hours of Saturday morning in Benin City, the Edo state Capital.
A resident in the area who first heard the sound of the vehicle being taken away, quickly alerted the driver to submit himself to Evbuotubu Police Division where he was interrogated and detained on Saturday morning by the Police.
Spokesman of Edo state University, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Masajuwa, denied the allegation of a missing vehicle belonging to the Institution . But, she said: “the driver had a personal disagreement with his boss” which need to be soughted out with Police.
According to her: “whatever the driver has to do with his boss is personal and it has nothing to do with our University. I can authoritatively tell you that our vehicles are complete and intact”.
A dependable source told our Correspondent that “the vehicle has no tracking device the vehicle has another plate number”.
