A group of women philanthropists ,Northern Nigerian Women for Change, has chosen to celebrate the birthday of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar together with orphans and other less privileged ones in Enugu, south eastern Nigeria.
The group, together with an NGO,Stand for Hope and Love Initiative ( Cure Nigeria ) led by Princess Ngozi Amos Ezenwa ,put smiles on the inmates of Chesire Home in Enugu called Daughters of Divine Love Charity Home in Enugu.
Leader of the Northern Nigerian Women for Change, the group of women philanthropists ,Hajiya Zainab Musa said their decision to associate and show love to the orphans and other less privileged ones in the society on the birthday of the Wazirin Adamawa ,was in line with the principle of the former Vice President whose entire life was dedicated to uplifting the life of the people and adding positive value to the living standard of orphans and the poor.
Atiku’s love for humanity, she said, has remained outstanding and could not be disputed as his efforts toward bringing succor to the people and providing them with a means of livelihood, stand distinct in present day Nigeria.
According to Hajiya Zainab Musa,” Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ,the Wazirin Adamawa is our father whose love for humanity cannot be over emphasized .He is a person with a large heart who derives pleasure from putting smiles on faces especially that of orphans and the less privileged.”
” We therefore decided to celebrate his birthday in far away Enugu with orphans and other less advantaged children in our society .They are human and need to be loved and catered for like any other normal children .We want to associate with them and make them feel happy with our numerous gifts ,in line with the principle and tradition of the Wazirin Adamawa,” she said .
She explained that although her group was not a political association ,they had partnered with the NGO and decided to entertain the orphans and others during the occasion ,in honor of a true and detribalized Nigerian who have carved a niche for himself in the annals of history.
She prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Atiku Abubakar good health and more prosperous years ahead, calling on other rich Nigerians to emulate the former Vice President by committing their wealth in the course of the poor.
Speaking on the occasion,Coordinator of the Orphanage and Charity Home ,Sister Nnamani Kate thanked the NGO and the Northern Nigerian Women for Change for their kind gesture and wished the Wazirin Adamawa a happy birthday and success in his endeavors.
The orphans in their hundreds, also expressed gratitude to the NGO and described their leader,Princess Ngozi Amos Ezenwa ,as a true mother with a heart of gold.
Highlight of the occasion was the cutting of a birthday cake in honor of the former Vice President, distribution of gifts, food ,drinks and other provisions to the children and their care givers .
