By Lola Seriki- Idahosa, kaduna, NorthWest Nigeria.

As the general elections move closer and politicking begins, a group known as GOODNEWS NIGERIA, an autonomous independent advocacy group without government, political affiliation, economic interest or relation has called on the former Military Governor of Kaduna State, Colonel Umar Dangiwa to come on board with his vast experience and contest the position of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming election.

The group made this call on Tuesday while addressing newsmen in Kaduna and also called on Nigerians to boldly stand up for their beliefs about what’s best for the nation and to lay the best foundation necessary for the future.

In a world Press conference by the National Coordinator of the group, Engr. Dauda Mbaya and read by Director Media and Public Affairs, Mr. B Victor Mathew, described Col. Dangiwa Umar as a well-informed, compassionate, generous, smart and thoughtful, adding that he is not like those politicians that fooled Nigerian in the past.

According to the statement, “Nigeria is headed towards demise. If the old adage is that ‘insanity is trying the same thing time and time again, and expecting a different result, ‘why would we vote the usual type of politicians?

The group cautioned Nigerians that they should not allow an individual who does not speak from his heart but rather prefers to be advised on what to say and when to say it to lead them any longer.

“Do we wish to be led by a politician who waits to see how the polls emerge on a subject before issuing an opinion? Do you seek a president or a puppet who’s views you do not truly know?,” the group asked.

While lauding the detribalized virtues of Dangiwa, the group said: “ Dangiwa speaks for all people. He is among the only genuine person that stands for the poor, average class and even the few privileged that Nigerians can trust.”

The GOOD NEWS NIGERIA was founded in 2016 by group of good minds from North, East, West and South of Nigeria.

Its mission is to defend and promote the political values of human rights,as established in relevants international instruments and convenants, and advance Democratic change, rule of law and constitutionalism in Nigeria with the ultimate aim of building a society in which citizens excercise their basic rights to good governance and live in peace digital and prosperity for “United Nigeria”.
