The crocodile city of Kaduna went agog on Monday morning as the former Organizing Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Mustapha stormed the state secretariat of the party to formally declare his intention for the position of National Secretary.
The Abubakar Mustapha support team which arrived at the People’s Democratic Party secretariat at about 10am were received by crowd, PDP stakeholders in the state, youths and well wishers.
In his welcome address, the former commissioner for information Rabin Boko said that the state is bless to have Abubakar Mustapha and appealed to all party members to support him.
In his speech, Abubakar Mustapha said that there is no functioning government in kaduna state, and appealed to everyone to see themselves as one family, put aside all differences and work together,
According to him, “it is only when we work together that we can get the power back, we should see ourselves as one family, we should be up and doing and see the achievements as your achievements”
“I appreciate your commitment to the unity of our party and we want to come in and make our party one united family. We are aware of your labour for our party and this must not be in vain, that is why I am presenting myself for the office of National Secretary.
“I seek your prayers and blessings as party leader”, he said.
Also speaking at the event are: the former commissioner for finance and water resources Dr. John Ayuba, former Director Media and publicity to former Vice President Arc. Namadi Sambo Umar Sani ‘De Cat’, PDP Chairman and Secretary of the state Mr. Hassan Hyat
In his remark, the state chairman wish him success in his campaign and said the state will continue to pray for him to emerge as the National Secretary of the PDP.
The PDP chairman also commended Abubakar Mustapha for his leadership skills and his contributions to the state while he was Organizing Secretary of the party adding that he has been tested and trusted.
According to Mr. Hassan Hyat, “our candidate is a natural team player, a network builder and a man of sweeping accommodating largeness that will make our great party home to all”, he said.
In a chat with TraceReporter, spokesman to former Vice President Arc. Namadi Sambo, Umar Sani said he has no doubt that Abubakar Mustapha is the must qualify person to handle the position of National Secretary.
According to him, “haven work as an administrator for years in Kaduna and also for the party at both state and National level, he Stand as the best candidate to win the race, he has all the experience required to be the National Secretary”.
