.Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has condemned the attacked on the former Inspector General Of Police Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomassie, the Sardaunan Katsina by unknown gunmen during the weekend.
In a press statement issued in kaduna and made available to tracereporter started that the incidence of unknown gunmen killing innocent citizens and security personnel is very worrisome.
According to the statement, “ACF learnt with shock and disbelief the attack on the residence of the former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomassie, Sardaunan Katsina, in Katsina by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening. The attackers killed one mobile policeman and took his rifle and also injured one other policeman on duty.
“ACF condemns the dastardly act of the assailants and calls on the security agencies to mount a serious manhunt for the perpetrators of this heinous crime in order to bring them to justice.
“The incidence of unknown gunmen killing innocent citizens and security personnel is very worrisome.
“ACF urges the security agencies to be proactive and the general public to be more security conscious and inform security agencies of any suspicious movements by persons or strangers in their midst.The community can effectively secure its environment through conscious synergy with the security agencies. Hence the need to share intelligence needed for stamping out challenges to security and to peaceful coexistence across the country.
“Meanwhile,ACF commiserates with our Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie,over this unfortunate incidence and also condoled the family of the slain policeman over this irreparable loss. May God grant his soul eternal peaceful rest.
