Professor Jonathan Andrew Nok, the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology in Kaduna state has reiterated the importance of unity amongst the diverse people of Nigeria and condemned the excessive intolerance of opposing views.
He said every human being could achieve excellence in life if such a person shun laziness ,embrace and respect fellow human beings irrespective of tribal or religious inclination .
Professor Nok who was the best graduating science student from Government Secondary School ( GSS) Kafanchan in Kaduna state, spoke at the maiden reunion dinner of the “Class of 1982, GSS Kafanchan” in Kaduna,Northwest Nigeria.
Although the commissioner had passed out from the school earlier than the 1982 set,members of the 82 set singled him out to deliver a lecture on how to achieve excellence in life.
Nok explained that quality education was important in the process of achieving excellence in life and therefore ,the Kaduna state government had committed resources towards enhancing and improving schools across the state.
He congratulated the 1982 set who he described as pace setters to be emulated, saying their Chairman,Alhaji Hassan Mahmood Ibrahim, the Sardaunan Hayin Banki Kaduna was a highly respected journalist whom he was personally proud and happy with his work.
The Government Secondary School, GSS, Kafanchan Old Boys, subsequently , endorsed the political aspiration of Alhaji Hassan Mahmood Ibrahim,the Sardaunan Hayin Banki Kaduna,come 2019.
They said going by his pedigree and excellent tract record, he had all it takes to provide quality representation the in National Assembly.
The decision for endorsing Hassan Ibrahim, Sardaunan Hiyin Banki, was unanimously taken at the meeting of the old boys held at Command Guest House, Kaduna.
Alhaji Kasimu Saleh ,an old boy, told journalist that they were prepared to support Sardauna.
Speaking to journalists, a staunch member of the old boys, Mr. Ayuba Gora said quite a number of them in the meeting passed out from the school in 1982.
Gora who is currently the sector commander Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, in charge of FCT Abuja, said some old boys have not had opportunity of meeting one-on-one since they passed out from the school in 1982, and therefore felt they should organize the programme to be able meet again.
“You can see the jubilation and excitement among members, it tells you that there is love seeing people after over 30 years. So, imaging a meeting after over 30 years, and the need to cerebrate it,” he said.
On the fake recruitments into the FRSC by syndicates experienced in recent time in the corp, the sector, commander said, FRSC was not recruiting, adding that it was done by fraudsters without the knowledge of the Corp.
